While spearheading construction of the grand estate, Saperstein drew inspiration from Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicompte, one of France’s most elaborate chateaux. The Swedish-born socialite decorated the manse with 18th century French furniture and Faberge eggs, filling the closets with couture and a collection of Hermes Birkin and Kelly bags which would inspire accessory envy in any red-blooded fashionista.
