M/Y Omega available worldwide , M/Y O’Mega sets a class of its own. She features some of the highest standards available in passenger and private yachts in regards to both luxury and service. Golden Yachts was established in 1997 by Capt. Paris Dragnis, a successful businessman highly involved in the commercial shipping sector. Out of his long passion for yachts of unrivalled quality and style, and being a yacht owner himself for many years, he was the ideal person to have the knowledge of the demands of the exclusive clientele on a luxury yacht vacation. The company began offering its yachting services with the 42m M/Y O’Pari that was then the first luxury motor yacht of such high standards to charter in the East/West Mediterranean. The yacht was built in Intermarine Spa, a shipyard well known for its reliable, fast, and technologically advanced building of military patrol vessels. At the time it was not involved in luxury yacht building and thus a bet between Capt. Dragnis and the shipyard was established. Considering that many luxury yachts were built at Intermarine, after the great success of O’Pari, it is evident that this bet was won by Capt. Dragnis. Its repeat clientele over the years has established the yacht as being the ultimate 40metre yacht for luxury yacht vacations. In 1998, after seeing the appeal O’Pari had in the market, and the lack of 40-metre quality charter yachts, the company moved on to acquire the Alucraft M/Y O’Rea. After extensive work and fully refurbishing the 42-metre yacht, it was placed on the chartering market. The company managed and chartered the two yachts and built a name that was synonymous with luxury, style, and high-quality service. In the year 2002, the M/Y O’Mega was purchased and began her extensive refurbishment. Leaving only the yacht’s hull untouched, she was transformed from a passenger ship into a beautiful 83metre luxury mega yacht. Golden Yachts and Capt. Dragnis were confronted with a great challenge, since at the time a yacht of this size was considered a bit exaggerated. The company’s concept regarding O’Mega was to be able to offer clients of more than twelve the highest degree of luxury, with standards that surpass those of even the best five-star luxury hotels throughout the world. In 2004 O’Mega made its debut to the chartering industry and is in a position to boast an extraordinary chartering season for its first year. While working on the O’Mega, Capt. Dragnis did not seem at ease and proceeded to purchase one more 42-metre yacht in order to be able to satisfy the high demand for M/Y O’Pari. M/Y O’Rion, a Siar Moschini yacht, was built with the most advanced technological equipment as well as with the finest Italian quality interior. The yacht can definitely be considered a sister yacht of O’Pari, however, the company’s increased experience has ensured that O’Rion has gone a step further in all aspects. Meanwhile, in 2004 Golden Yachts took over the management of the 32-metre M/Y Melody and the 42-metre M/Y Rhapsody, two yachts that were well-known in the charter market and effected successful charters in the East Mediterranean. The Rhapsody currently is undergoing full refurbishment and will be available for charter as of spring 2005. The company’s fleet also consists of the sportive 28-metre Baglietto M/Y O’Asis that is available for charter only during the summer low season. Since its inception, Golden Yachts has successfully managed its yachts and has created strong business relationships with a number of reputable yards and internationally recognized charter brokers, receiving high accreditation throughout the years. Today the company is recognized as a leading yacht management firm in the East and West Mediterranean, and has sustained its reputation to its clients by keeping their needs a top priority. The company has invested in creating and managing yachts which can cater to the most demanding of clients.
